Borrowing

Did you know you also can borrow . . .

We have books, audiobooks, DVDs, magazines, and much more available for borrowing.  

The Johnstown Public Library has not charged fines on late materials since April 2019. 

Borrowing Periods:

Materials may be renewed, depending upon local library policies and if the material is requested by another patron. Items can be renewed at the library, by phone, or in your online account.  Patrons are responsible for returning borrowed items on time, and for any fees associated with lost, damaged or unreturned items​​.

At the library . . .

  • Seasonal items (fishing equipment and snow shoes)

  • Exploring Nature Backpack kits (designed for kids/families)

  • Try-it Bags (designed for adults to explore new hobbies)
  • Storytime Bags (books and guided activity)
  • Start with Science kits (align with your homeschool curriculum)
  • Items not owned by the Library may still be available to our patrons via Interlibrary Loan (to learn more please visit the front desk or call the library).
  • use your library card or ask for a guest pass at the front desk to use a computer.

  • access free Wi-Fi inside of the building during open hours and 24/7 immediately outside of the building. No password or sign-in required.

  • ​a fax machine is available for use ($1.75 for 1 page and $1.00/page for all additional pages)

  • ​printing and copying is free.

  • a private meeting room can be reserved.​

  • we have a "Puzzle Exchange" for you to take/leave a jigsaw puzzle.

  • there's a community puzzle for anyone to spend a few minutes or hours solving.

  • an extra large community coloring sheet (table-size) is available for you to enjoy.

  • ​individual coloring sheets for both kids and adults.
  • a variety of board games are just waiting for you to play with a friend or two.

  • you may drop off items for the local food pantry.​​​
