I lost an item that I borrowed from the library. What do I do? Stop by the front desk or call. We will let you know the cost for a replacement.
What do if I had (or may have had) a card in the past, but am unsure if I still do? Come into the library with identification and we can check in the system to confirm if you did or did not have one in the past. Then, you will get a free replacement card or a new card (see information to the left "How to Get a Library Card").
What do I do if I lost my card? Come into the library with identification and request a new one. It's free!
I think I have overdue charges or fines on my account. What do I do? Call or stop by the front desk and we can check for you. Remember, the Johnstown Public Library has not charged late fees/fines since April of 2019.
I got a bill in the mail. What do I do now? Since the Library no longer charges late fines, you will only get a bill for items not returned well after the due date (and therefore assumed to be lost). If you have the item, simply return it in the drop box or at the front desk (no fees will be charged and the item will be removed from your account). If the item is lost, please pay the bill as stated. If you have a specific question regarding a bill, please call or stop by the library.
