How do I get a library card?
Bring your photo identification with your current address, or two pieces of mail with your name and current address, to the front desk. Any staff member can assist you. Register online for a new, temporary library card.
How old do you need to be to get a library card?
We do not have any age restrictions. However, anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian complete the registration and show the identification.
What do I do if I lose my library card?

How do I access e-content like books & magazines for my tablet or phone? What about audiobooks on my phone?
Borrow ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines with your library card to enjoy on your mobile device or computer. Try the new Libby app on your phone or tablet! You can also enjoy titles from our OverDrive website on your computer, Kindle or eReader. Titles automatically expire at the end of the lending period and there are never any late fees. How much is a late fine?
The Johnstown Public Library has not charged late fines since 2019. 🙂 Please return the items regardless if they are overdue so others may enjoy them.
How much is it to copy or print?
The Johnstown Public Library does not charge for either of these (up to 50 pages per day). You do not need a library card to copy, print or use a computer.

Can I keep my borrowed items longer?
Stop by or call (762-8317) the front desk and we can check your account. Often, the items can be renewed. However, if someone else is waiting or a lending library wants it back, we cannot renew the item. In these cases, your name can be added to the request list and then you could borrow it in the near future.
Do you take book donations?
We do accept donations of clean, lightly used books. There’s a limit of two boxes per day. We cannot take textbooks.
How do I make a donation in memory of a loved one?
A tribute book is a wonderful way to honor someone living or deceased. A bookplate acknowledging the person can be placed in the front section of the book. https://johnstown-public-library.snwbll.com/giving-portal
